DSW seeks to recruit an 80% Admin and HR Officer (1-year contract) based in Brussels, Belgium
For one year, potentially with the possibility of extension to an open-ended contract.

As our Admin & HR Officer, you’ll support both our Advocacy and Finance/Admin units.
Under the supervision of the head of DSW’s Brussels office, your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring smooth office operations and administrative support, including liaising with external providers, invoice handling, office rental and maintenance, coordination of IT support, prevention and protection at work, insurances, financial administration, legal administration;

Handling HR administration: recruitment, payroll coordination, onboarding/offboarding, and compliance with Belgian labour law

Supporting the adaptation and implementation of internal HR policies in close collaboration with our HeadOffice HR team

Coordinating event and project logistics (planning, catering, youth and partner visits, etc.) and making travel arrangements

In all of the above: collaborate and coordinate with DSW advocacy and communications colleagues and the head of the DSW Brussels Office to contribute to the joint achievements of the team.

Eventually, responsibilities could be expanded to include also the monitoring of project budgets
What you bring:

A university degree and 2+ years’ experience in, admin, or HR, or project coordination

Passion for improving staff wellbeing and working conditions; Commitment to prevention and protection at work

Sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion; People-centered approach to HR processes: Enthusiasm for building a positive, supportive workplace culture

Strong command of English and French

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Sharepoint) and good understanding of HR/admin processes in Belgium

Strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit

Interest in EU policy-making processes, gender equality, global health issues, women’s health, sexual and reproductive health and rights

Desirable: Familiarity with HR software for payroll, with health insurance, and pension scheme; experience with HR administration companies (Securex or equivalent), knowledge of Belgian labour legislation esp for non-profit organisations, experience in prevention and protection at work, of financial administration including basic accounting and Belgian/EU tax system, experience in travel logistics, event organisation, team events and training organisation, office management
