ECAS is looking for a motivated, bilingual (French and Dutch) candidate to join its team in Brussels under a curricular internship (based on a university agreement) or a post-graduate internship (based on a Belgian internship contract) to support the INDEU project. Commitment to ECAS’ mission and values is a must.
Students applying for a curricular internship and residing outside Belgium should be entitled to receive a scholarship from their university for the purpose of conducting the internship programme abroad.
Post-graduate applicants must reside in Belgium during the internship period.
The INDEU Project
In 2025 ECAS is implementing INDEU – Inclusive Digitalisation in the EU. The project includes a crowdsourcing campaign in Belgium (available in French, Dutch, and English) to co-create policies that enhance digital transformation. It addresses two key issues: the lack of digital skills and the shortage of ICT specialists, along with the sector’s significant gender gap.
The campaign will engage Belgian citizens and will generate policy recommendations to be shared with relevant stakeholders. It will run simultaneously in five other EU countries from April to November.
ECAS Communications
ECAS Communications are built on four pillars:

ECAS website to share project updates, reports, blog posts, news items, and upcoming events.

Social media to share updates about our activities on a regular basis.
-
Newsletter to compile articles with past activities and provide an outlook on upcoming workstreams.

Stakeholder network to share messages via formal or informal networks with relevant stakeholders.
Tasks
Under the guidance of ECAS’ European Democracy Team, the successful candidate will carry out tasks related to the INDEU project Crowdsourcing campaign in Belgium, and other daily activities, including:

Supporting the editorial and content creation and communication activities of ECAS.

Promoting the Belgian campaign of “INDEU – Inclusive digitalisation in the EU” (in French and Flemish).

Reaching out to citizens and selected stakeholders to involve them in the campaign (for example, attending or organising events, being active on social media, writing articles, etc.).

Compiling and regularly updating a stakeholder database of policymakers, CSOs, and media involved in digitalisation in Belgium.

Performing other tasks as requested to contribute to the objectives of ECAS.
Profile and Skills
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, European Affairs/Studies, or a related field.

Bilingual in French and Dutch, with English proficiency (both written and spoken).

Familiarity with social media tools and platforms.

Highly motivated and passionate about networking and community engagement.

Strong knowledge of the MS Office suite.

Proactive, results-oriented, and eager to take initiative.
The following skills and experiences would be beneficial:

Experience in participatory democracy.

Previous experience and knowledge in digital transformation.

Knowledge of content-creation software.

Proficiency in graphic design tools.
Contract

Curricular internship: 3 to 6-month University agreement

Post-graduate internship: 6-month Belgian Internship Contract (Convention d’Immersion Professionnel)
