## Organisation Description
Copa-Cogeca is the unified voice of farmers and agricultural cooperatives in the European Union. With more than 50 years of experience, the organization represents over 23 million farmers, their families, and 22,000 agri-cooperatives. Based in Brussels, Copa-Cogeca aims to defend the general interests of agriculture, maintain relationships with EU institutions, and collaborate with representative organizations at the EU level. It works alongside over 70 member organizations from EU member states and 30 partner organizations to find solutions that serve common interests.
## Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated young professional for a six months to one-year internship. This is a full-time, on-site internship role based in Brussels.
The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Secretary General and the Director of Commodities. They will support Copa and Cogeca’s overall work on the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2028-2034, with a specific focus on the future Common Markets Organization (CMO).
Responsibilities will include: Analyzing legislative documents, Drafting briefing notes and meeting reports, Supporting lobbying activities, Conducting research and analysis on key aspects of the CAP and CMO, Providing economic analysis support.
## Profile
The ideal candidate should have a specialization in agricultural economics or political sciences with a focus on EU policy and be available from March or April at the very latest. Familiarity with the Common Agricultural Policy is a strong plus.
## Qualifications
– Strong skills in research, analysis, and report writing
– Knowledge of communication practices and experience in drafting professional correspondences
– Excellent organizational and administrative skills
– Familiarity with the European Union, agriculture, and policy-making processes is an advantage
– Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are considered a plus
– Ability to work both independently and within a team in a dynamic, multicultural environment
– University degree or ongoing studies in areas such as Agriculture, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or Communications
