Organisation
“Healthy animals, healthy people, a healthy planet”.
In 10 African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Burundi, DR Congo, Uganda and Rwanda, Comores), Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgique (VSF-B) helps family farmers to practice ecologically responsible animal husbandry. Through training, equipment and medicines, we work with them to keep their animals and their environment in good health and enable people to live in dignity.
By following the principles of One Health, we provide answers to today’s most essential health questions. Our focus on the sustainable management of biodiversity and the health of ecosystems reduces the risk of diseases spreading from wildlife to humans and livestock. In this way, we are helping to prevent pandemics such as covid-19 and Ebola.
VSF-B employs more than 140 people in the countries where we carry out projects and around 20 people at our head office in Brussels.
VSF-B is a member of the international organisation Vétérinaires Sans Frontières International and encourages collaboration with local partners in the countries where we work.
Our organisation is strongly committed to a process of continuous improvement.
