The Party of the European Left (EL) seeks a dynamic, proactive, politically engaged Communication Coordinator to lead external communications, press strategy, and team-building methodology.
You will shape and broadcast the voice of over 40 progressive parties across Europe, opposing capitalist exploitation, ecological destruction, patriarchy, fascism, war, and all forms of oppression.

Main Responsibilities
COMMUNICATION TEAM & METHODOLOGY

Design and implement a collaborative workflow across the Communication Team and other EL departments.

Coordinate closely with the EL President’s Office.
PRESS & MEDIA STRATEGY
-
Develop and execute a coherent press strategy: build relationships with European media, organise briefings, draft releases, and monitor coverage.

Prepare regular media reports.
CONTENT & SOCIAL MEDIA
-
Craft and manage content for web, newsletter, and social channels.
-
Bring social-media expertise (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok) to grow our audience and engagement.
EVENTS & AUDIO-VISUAL

Plan and implement communication around events and campaigns.

Coordinate visual identity and promotional materials.
-
Oversee audio-visual teams (photographers, video crews, livestreaming) — AV skills a plus.
WEBSITE MANAGEMENT & ANALYTICS

Maintain and update the EL website (WordPress).

Monitor and analyse web and social-media metrics to inform strategy.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
LANGUAGES
-
Fluent English + working knowledge of French or Spanish (other languages = asset).
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
-
≥ 2 years in press relations, political communication, or media coordination.

Excellent editorial, writing, and social-media skills.

Solid understanding of the European media and political landscape.

A good knowledge of European public affairs.

Autonomous and collaborative in international teams.

Proficient with WordPress, Mailchimp; familiarity with audio-visual and livestream tools advantageous.

Committed to the values of the European Left; militant experience desirable.
CONTRACT & APPLICATION

ADAPTATION PERIOD: optional two-week paid adaptation contract in July with an active participation at the Summer University in Paris.
