European Schoolnet is searching for a versatile and creative Communications Officer interested to join our dynamic Communications & Events Team. The position will involve supporting and promoting the organisation in the communication of corporate initiatives and outputs in the field of innovation in education. This position offers a great opportunity to work in an international environment liaising with colleagues and partners from all over Europe.

Main tasks

  • Writing, editing, and customising high quality content to different audiences, using different channels (e.g.: website, newsletters, social media, publications, press releases, and other marketing material that communicates the organisation’s activities, projects and services).

  • Dissemination of European Schoolnet’s publications, projects, initiatives and events.

  • Updating and maintaining European Schoolnet’s social media profiles, corporate website and policy newsletter.

  • Updating and maintaining European Schoolnet’s Future Classroom Lab communications channels, including its website, social media profiles newsletter and digest.

  • Maintaining European Schoolnet’s databases (spokespeople and media contact database & digital platforms database).

  • Media monitoring, to report back in the progress of communications.

  • Assisting the Head of communication on the implementation of the internal communication strategy, in collaboration with other colleagues.

  • Proofreading and quality check: to ensure all external communications outputs are in line with the narrative and visual identity of the organisation.

Profile and skills

  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (like communication studies, media and journalism, etc.).

  • An excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Additional languages are an asset.

  • Proven experience working previously on social media communication SEO.

  • Experience engaging communities through organic social media and paid advertising knowledge.

  • A proactive team player with the ability to work independently under pressure and tiny deadlines.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Creative, with initiative and ability to identify ways to improve communication efforts, using compelling storytelling and online marketing skills.

  • Familiarity with multi-channel communication (web, blogs, newsletters, social media, publications) and digital tools.

  • Experience in video editing is an asset.

Useful information

  • Deadline for applications: until the position is filled.

  • Duration of contract: 12-month CDD (Contract Duration Déterminée – a fixed-term contract) according to Belgian standard conditions (renewable or leading to a CDI if mutually agreed). Full time from Monday to Friday (possibility to choose between 38 or 40 hours / week).

  • Benefits: teleworking allowance and IT equipment, partial reimbursement of commuting costs, salary in line with experience and qualifications, meal vouchers, corporate DKV hospitalisation insurance.

  • Location: European Schoolnet, Rue de Treves, 61, Brussels, Belgium. The position requires living in Belgium.
