The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR) is a leading network of 140 regional authorities across 24 countries, representing nearly 200 million people. Since 1973, CPMR has acted as a think tank and advocacy platform, ensuring that the needs of its regions are heard in European and national policies.
Organised into six geographical commissions, we work to achieve balanced territorial development in Europe and focus on key policy areas like cohesion, transport, maritime affairs, climate, energy and migration. We also produce studies, analyses, and policy papers to support our advocacy and raise awareness of regional challenges and opportunities.

**Job Title:** Communications and Events Assistant
**General Description:** The Communication and Events Assistant will support the CPMR Communication & Events team, contributing to a wide range of communication activities and assisting in the organisation of meetings, events and various initiatives.
**Employee’s Position in the Organisation:** As part of the Communication & Events Team, this position reports to the Director for Communications

## Job Summary
The CPMR is looking for a dynamic and creative Communications and Events Assistant to join its team. In this role you will support the CPMR communication team in various communication activities, helping to create impactful messaging and ensuring the successful organisation and execution of events and meetings in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
## Description of the internship | Your responsibilities
You will join a small and dynamic Communication and Events team and contribute to the internal and external communication of the CPMR. You will work under the supervision of the Director for Communications and in close cooperation with all team members. You will contribute to the organisation of meetings and events, as well as provide general operational support to the team.
Within the Communications & Events team, you will be involved in the following tasks:
### Communication
– Assist in creating and editing communication materials, including videos, social media content, newsletters, etc.
– Support social media content planning, drafting posts, and monitoring engagement across platforms
– Contribute to the communication activities and needs of European Projects
– Provide communications support to CPMR events (face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats)
– Help update website content and internal platforms as required
– Provide general administrative and operational support to the communications team
### Events
– Assist with organising and promoting events, meetings and internal initiatives
– Provide on-site support during events, including coordination, logistics, and communication
– Assist with preparing event materials such as invitations, agendas, presentations, and signage
– Coordinate on-site logistics, including food and beverage, audio/visual support, equipment, and operational needs
– Liaise with venues, suppliers, caterers, interpreters, security teams, and other relevant stakeholders
– Arrange transportation and hotel accommodations as required
– Perform administrative and operational tasks as assigned by the line manager
## Qualifications and Skills Required | Are you the person we are looking for?
### Profile and Education:
– You have a relevant degree in communication, events or marketing management
– You have an excellent command of English
– You have strong written communication skills
– You are familiar with image and video editing tools (Adobe Suite, Canva)
– You have an eye for design
– You are team player and have a genuine passion for communications and event organisation
– You have a hands-on attitude and a willingness to support day-to-day tasks
### Personal skills:
– You are at ease working in a relatively autonomous and structured way
– You understand intercultural contexts and can handle different working cultures
– You have a proactive and dynamic attitude to work
– You are willing to maximise your internship experience and make an impact with your work
– You are curious, motivated, and keen to gain practical experience
– You are comfortable helping with both creative and logistical tasks
– You are ready to learn by doing in a fast-paced environment
### Advantageous and desirable background:
– Knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions
– Experience in communications related to EU affairs
– Experience managing social media (Facebook, LinkedIn)
– Proficiency in at least another European language (particularly French) is a strong asset
– Knowledge of local and regional administrations and membership-based entities
