About the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF)

ECF is the single European umbrella federation for cycling advocacy. We unite more than 89 member organisations in over 40 countries, amplifying the voice of everyday cyclists across Europe and beyond.

Our mission is to promote cycling as a sustainable and inclusive means of transport, leisure and tourism. We support our members, advocate for cycling-friendly policy, and showcase the power of the bicycle to transform lives and communities.

About the Role

As Communications Coordinator, you will support ECF’s communications work with a creative, hands-on approach, helping to shape how we present ourselves across Europe – and increasingly, internationally. You will assist in the development and delivery of engaging content that tells the story of cycling and its growing impact on mobility, health, climate and the economy.

This is an ideal role for a motivated early-career professional with strong storytelling instincts, a passion for cycling and sustainability, and an interest in visual media, branding, and digital communications. You will play a key role in supporting the evolution of the ECF brand, while helping to broaden its reach beyond the EU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality, engaging multimedia content (including video, social media assets and written copy) that reflects ECF’s tone and values
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials for events, advocacy campaigns and publications
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of ECF’s evolving brand identity, including visual and narrative storytelling approaches
  • Support the redesign and development of ECF’s digital presence (website, social media channels, visual identity)
  • Work closely with colleagues across teams to identify and share compelling stories from ECF’s members, networks and projects
  • Support coverage and promotion of major events such as the Velo-city conference and key campaign moments
  • Contribute to ECF’s media outreach and press activities, including drafting press materials and liaising with journalists
  • Assist in managing external content creators (designers, videographers, translators) and maintaining our media asset library
  • Help monitor communications performance and report on campaign and content metrics
