Job description

The MobiliseYourCity Partnership is a leading global Partnership for systemic and transformative urban mobility planning, facilitating investments and linking local action with the global sustainability agenda (Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement). The Partnership is supported by the European Commission, the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition (MTE), the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Nuclear Safety (BMUV), which are working in collaboration to enable positive global transformation.

Since 2015 the Partnership has gathered a network of 79 partner cities and 15 partner countries, which are being supported by 10 implementing and knowledge partners led by AFD and GIZ. City and country partners are supported through two main planning and project preparation tools: National Urban Mobility Policies and/or Investment Programs (NUMP) and Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP), which serve as the basis for the promotion of investments and development of attractive mobility services. The MobiliseYourCity Partnership also acts as a platform for financing by connecting international and bilateral technical & financial agencies with cities and countries across the world that have ambitious goals to decarbonise and improve their urban transport. The ambition of the Partnership is to work with 100 cities and 20 countries.

Since February 2017, the MobiliseYourCity Secretariat works in Brussels to coordinate the Partnership’s activities, including communication, monitoring and reporting, partnership management, fundraising and consolidating technical expertise. The Secretariat also organizes biannual Steering Committee meetings, which brings together all the partners and decides on the main orientations of the Partnership.

The secretariat is designed as a team with the following roles:

  • Head of the Secretariat

  • Outreach & Partner Manager

  • Mobility Expert 1

  • Mobility Expert 2

  • Monitoring and evaluation

  • Communications Officer

  • Interns (one financed by BMUV, and one financed by AFD)

Your tasks:

  • Develop and implement communication campaigns that reflect MobiliseYourCity’s vision and mission, tailored to target audiences; coordinate with partners and counterparts in other organisations on joint campaigns.

  • Manage the MobiliseYourCity website in English, French, and Spanish: regularly update content and design; ensure clear, engaging messaging aligned with the Partnership’s objectives; liaise with the website provider as needed.

  • Lead editorial planning and production of key communication products, including the thematic newsletter (in three languages), monthly global update (in English), and various digital and print materials.

  • Coordinate external service providers, including graphic designers and consultants, from tendering through to delivery, ensuring alignment with branding guidelines.

  • Produce and edit content for multiple platforms—website, social media, publications—ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibility across languages.

  • Monitor and report on media performance using analytical tools to support data-driven communication strategies.

  • Support brand visibility through the public presentation of the MobiliseYourCity identity and contribute to the translation and editorial review of knowledge and communication products.

  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of events, such as webinars, steering committee meetings, trainings, and international conferences.

  • Deliver training sessions and provide administrative support, including contact and database management, as needed.

Your profile:

  • You are a young professional graduated in event management, media, communication, environmental, political or social sciences or a related field with an interest in NGOs

  • You have an interest in development policy and a basic understanding of the challenges facing the transport sector in emerging and developing countries and/or a passion for sustainability and a willingness to contribute to a fair future

  • You have a high knowledge of social media, including analytics tools

  • You are able to implement creative ideas in an agile, fast and productive manner and work efficiently, solution-oriented and on your own responsibility

  • You have organizational skills and enjoy supporting the preparation and implementation of events in new, digital formats with a hands-on mentality

  • You have very good written and spoken English, French and Spanish

  • You have a very good feeling for language and are skilled in writing and editing texts

  • You have basic website management skills

  • You are confident in using IT and are familiar with the usual office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Mastery of image processing programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is a real advantage.
