Summary

As a Data & Impact Trainee at FEBA, you will support one of the organisation’s core missions: measuring and communicating the impact of Food Banks. You will assist the team in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data from FEBA members, contributing to evidence-based insights that demonstrate the real difference Food Banks make in people’s lives. This role offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in data management, social impact assessment, and non-profit operations, while contributing to initiatives that tackle hunger and food waste across Europe.

Responsibilities

Data Collection and Analysis Support

  • Assist in collecting and verifying data from FEBA members for the annual data collection process.

  • Support the cleaning, organisation, and maintenance of datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Perform basic data analysis to identify trends and key insights.

Reporting and Visualisation

  • Help prepare charts, tables, and visual summaries to communicate the impact of Food Banks.

  • Support the production of internal and external reports, turning raw data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Contribute to preparing materials for FEBA publications, presentations, and meetings.

FEBA Members Support and Communication

  • Assist FEBA members in navigating the data collection platform and addressing basic queries.

  • Provide guidance to improve data quality and completeness.

  • Support email outreach and follow-ups to ensure timely submission of data.

  • Contribute to newsletters, presentations, or social media content highlighting impact findings.

General Administrative Support

  • Provide general support to ensure smooth data management and reporting operations.

  • Assist in organising team meetings, taking notes, and following up on action points related to data and impact activities.

Profile

Education

  • University degree or relevant academic background, preferably in the fields of social sciences, public health, economics, or a related field.

  • No students currently enrolled in an academic program will qualify for this position.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills and accuracy in handling data.

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.

  • Experience with data analysis tools (Power BI is a plus) and working with databases.

  • Interest in non-profit work, social impact, and using data to drive decision-making.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, clean, and interpret data.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Previous experience in administration, research, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.

Experience

  • Previous internships, volunteer experiences, or coursework related to data analysis, and research.

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must be entitled to work in Belgium and/or the EU and ideally should be based in Brussels.
