Your Role

  • Monitor legal developments in Member States impacting LGBTQI rights and rule of law.

  • Conduct legal research and brief EU institutions and Member States in relation to, and ahead of, CJEU proceedings.

  • Identify EU-level litigation opportunities through regular contact with NGOs across the EU.

  • Draft advocacy materials, attend high-level meetings, and contribute to campaign strategy.

  • Excellent command of English (C2).

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights and EU values.

  • Sound political judgment and diplomacy skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in EU institutions, courts, or a specialised EU law firm.

  • Experience drafting legal opinions, litigation files, or complex policy documents.

  • Expertise in one or more relevant EU law areas: Charter of Fundamental Rights, Conditionality Regulation, Financial Regulation, CPR, RRF, or EU sanctions.

  • Experience working with or inside civil society organisations.

We Offer

  • Salary: Open-ended contract. Annual gross salary between €3,400 to €3,700 per month, with 12 monthly payments and additional holiday pay in May. Benefits include: meal vouchers, professional development funding, extra year-end days off, and partial public transport cost reimbursement. Tax benefits are available for individuals with dependents or an unemployed partner.

  • Workplace Culture: Flexible working arrangements with the option to work remotely 2-3 days a week in Belgium or telework from another EU Member State for up to 25% of your time. Our welcoming office is located in the heart of the European Quartier, at the Mug coworking space in Schuman.
