The European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and Environment (FEDARENE) offers in its Brussels office, from February 2026 onwards:
6-month internship as EU Project Assistant
What we offer
- A work experience coupled with responsibility and networking opportunities within a well-established European association (+30 years)
- The interns will be integrated in the FEDARENE team working on several European projects and initiatives related to adaptation to climate change, energy and climate planning for local and regional authorities, energy communities, etc.
- Training opportunities by participating in FEDARENE capacity building activities and in 3 dedicated training sessions on project management, operation of EU networks and EU policy / advocacy.
- Monthly reimbursement of accommodation costs up to 700,00eur.
- Meal allowance of 8,00eur per working day.
- Full coverage of public transport in the Brussels Capital Region.
Main activities
Support the FEDARENE project manager and officer(s) in the implementation of tasks such as:
- Developing and carrying out campaigns towards local and regional authorities for renewing their engagement to the projects.
- Supporting the projects’ beneficiaries (general helpdesk) in understanding and using the tools at their disposal.
- Developing surveys for projects’ members, analysing results and drafting reports.
- Supporting the development of proposal for EU-funded projects.
- Supporting the daily management of EU projects / initiatives.
- Supporting the organisation of online and in person events that may take place within the internship period.
- Supporting the development of guidance and training on how to set up an energy and climate agency.
- Writing web articles on energy-related topics and projects’ main activities;
- Carrying out interviews and developing case studies on energy communities, one-stop-shops, etc.
- Developing the script and recording video tutorials for municipalities and regions.
- The intern may also be requested to participate in other activities for our members (energy agencies and regions around the EU).
Required profile
- Student in European Studies, Environmental studies or similar,
- C1 minimum in English (good writing skills in English is essential),
- Autonomous, creative, proactive,
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and especially MS Excel and MS Word,
- Able to quickly familiarise with web applications.
Only students able to provide a traineeship agreement from a university or Erasmus + programme will be selected.
Only pre-selected applicants will be contacted for an online interview. Interviews will take place on the week of the 8th of December 2025. Interviews may be accompanied by a remote exercise connected to one of the above-listed activities to test competences.
