Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides assistance in more than 70 countries to populations in distress, to victims of natural or manmade disasters and to victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of origin, religion, creed or political affiliation.
Context
Communication is integral to MSF’s humanitarian and medical operations for the purposes of leverage, security, access, or visibility. MSF also bears witness to crises through testimonies and speaking out when necessary.
Within the Communication and Fundraising Department of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Brussels, you will support the implementation of activities related to events, youth engagement, and public communication. You will be part of a dynamic and creative team working closely with colleagues from different departments, volunteers, and external partners.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, event coordination, and communication within an international humanitarian organization.
Main Responsibilities
You will support the Events Officer as well as the Youth Engagement Officer in a variety of tasks:
Event Coordination

Assist with planning and logistics (materials, orders, catering, transport, etc.)

Support volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and briefing

Help coordinate events of various sizes (public awareness events, sports events, festivals, exhibitions)

Provide on-site support during events and ensure smooth logistics

Manage relationships with participants, partners, and suppliers
-
Assist in post-event follow-up (thank-you messages, content sharing, feedback collection)
Youth Engagement

Support the creation of engaging content for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, etc.)

Help organize online events or livestreams (e.g., Twitch) — from planning topics to technical support

Assist in developing materials for presentations and outreach activities with universities

Contribute to creative ideas for youth-oriented campaigns and festival activations

Conduct basic benchmarking and support digital content management
Requirements
Education
Currently studying communication, marketing, public relations, project/event management, or a related field.

*Due to legal administrative constraints, future interns must already reside in Belgium with the right to stay and study in Belgium within a Belgian study establishment; or reside in Europe as part of studies in a European study establishment (accepting that the internship is carried out in another European country), have a right of residence and study in Europe and be ready to move and find accommodation in Belgium for the duration of the internship at their own expense
