The Internal Communications Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the internal communications team by managing various tasks related to editorial support, event coordination, translation management, content distribution, and staff engagement. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Editorial & Translation Support

Manages the editorial calendar, oversee the content creation process, coordinate with contributors to meet deadlines, and continues work on making Contact Magazine ‘future proof’.

Provides (ad hoc) content support for the intranet and OCB Today.

Works closely with the DG department to coordinate translations for internal materials and ensure consistency.
Practical Organization/Support of Staff Events:
Coordinate and support staff events at the Brussels Office, such as the MSF Movie Nights, Pride Parade, the End of Year Party and (potential) expositions.
Advising and Engaging

Advise and inform staff about communication tools and channels, helping them communicate efficiently on day-to-day communications.

Develop tool kits for people managers and other staff, providing resources to improve their communication.
Research and Improvement:
Continuously research, measure, and adapt communication strategies and tools to improve their effectiveness.
Graphic Design & Video Editing (Preferred):
Help with basic graphic design tasks and video editing for internal communications purposes.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in (internal) communications, writing, and editorial support.

Excellent writing and editing skills (English and/or French). Working knowledge of the other language is a necessity.

Strong organizational and event coordination skills.

Attention to detail and ability to manage meticulous tasks.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Graphic design and/or video editing skills are a strong advantage.

Ability to research, measure, and adapt communication strategies.

A team player who can work collaboratively with various departments while also taking initiative and working independently.
