**The CPMR General Secretariat is looking for a Policy Analyst Intern on European Transport Policy.**
The Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) is a European association representing around 120 regions from 27 countries across Europe and beyond. It works to influence EU legislation and policies that impact regions, particularly in the areas of Transport, Energy, Cohesion, and Maritime affairs. The CPMR is a unique organization, subdivided into six geographical commissions corresponding to Europe’s main maritime basins: the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Atlantic Arc, the Mediterranean, the Balkans and the Black Sea, and the Islands.
Joining the CPMR will give you the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment and contribute to shaping European policies that directly affect regions.
– **Location:** Brussels (BE) Rennes (FR) or Barcelona (ES)
– **Internship formats:** University internship with compulsory training agreement (Brussels, Rennes and Barcelona)
– **Starting date:** from April 2026 *(exact date tbc).*
– **Initial duration:** 6 months.
– **General Conditions:**
– **Working hours:** 35 (France) or 38 (Belgium) hours/week
– **Teleworking:** Partially allowed under conditions, but internship is mainly office-based
– **Remuneration/Gratification:** Provided according to legal framework
– **Monthly transport pass:** Reimbursed according to legal provisions
This internship is designed as a long-term opportunity. Pending performance, legal conditions and financial availability, the initial 6-month period may lead to a 6-month renewal and/or a Brussels-based Contrat Insertion Professionnelle (CIP).
## **1- Key tasks**
**Under the supervision of the Director for Transport, the intern will contribute to:**
– **Policy Analysis & Support**: Providing daily support in policy monitoring, preparing briefing notes, and assisting in the organization of meetings of interest, working groups, and seminars, note taking.
– **EU Policy Monitoring**: Tracking key priority areas for EU Transport and following the activities of the CPMR Transport Working Groups.
– **EU Projects**: Assisting in the implementation of EU-funded projects in the transport sector.
– **Communication**: Developing internal and external content, including social media management, designing presentations, and maintaining website sections.
## **2- Profile of the candidates**
### **Minimum requirement:**
– **University degree in a relevant field** (European Affairs, Law, International Relations, Political Science, Transport)
– Strong interest in European and regional policies
– Communication skills and ability to manage relations with stakeholders
– Excellent knowledge of **English** (C1)
– Working proficiency in 1-2 additional languages spoken across the CPMR is a strong asset (e.g. French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, etc.)
### **Additional Assets:**
– **Experience or strong motivation in:**
– EU policy and regional development
– Communication or event coordination
– **Technical Skills:** Experience with cartographic tools (GIS/QGIS/ArcGIS) is a strong plus. Please specify tools used and provide examples of work if possible
– **Soft Skills**: Autonomy, team spirit, and the ability to thrive in a small, multicultural team.
