Europe Jacques Delors is looking for a full-time (38 hours/week) Programme Assistant (F/M/D), based in Brussels. The position is for an initial period of 6 months, to be filled as soon as possible.

Europe Jacques Delors is a Brussels-based, non-profit and independent think tank, which was created in 2020 in addition to the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris and the Jacques Delors Centre in Berlin. United by a common theme – Penser l’Europe, Europa denken, Thinking Europe – the three think tanks aim to contribute to the debate on the European integration in line with Jacques Delors’ vision and legacy.

Europe Jacques Delors is focusing on sustainability and environmental issues, working on greening trade and industrial policy, agrifood, ocean protection, green finance and green diplomacy. We are a young and dynamic team of 10 people working at Norrsken House Brussels in the European Quarter.

Your tasks:

  • Assist the colleagues in the ocean programme, in particular in the daily project management;

  • Carry out a range of research tasks, in preparation of upcoming publications or for upcoming panel discussions;

  • Assist the Director-General, including preparing and following-up on meetings; preparing media briefings and speaking engagements at events;

  • Conceptualise upcoming events, send invitations to speakers, prepare briefings for events, and ensure a smooth coordination process with potential partners;

  • Liaise with the communications team and prepare content for social media and the newsletter.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor or Master diploma in political science, law, social sciences, history, economics or any related field.

  • Full professional proficiency in English; French level should be B1 for listening and reading.

  • Excellent organisational abilities, strong time management skills and the ability to respond to urgent tasks.

  • Strong research, writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content on social media.

  • Advanced knowledge of the European Union, its institutions, and legislative processes.

  • A strong spirit of initiative, engagement for the topics of Europe Jacques Delors and an ability to work both autonomously and in a team.

  • Previous experience with think tanks is considered an asset.
