About Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE)

Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE) is the voice of the specialised nutrition industry in Europe. We unite and represent the specialised nutrition industry across Europe to contribute to positive framework conditions for our products for people with specific nutritional needs. These include infants and young children, people with medical conditions, disorders and diseases comprising inter alia coeliac disease, sports people and those managing their weight. With 22 national associations as members across Europe, a Brussels-based team and a network of top-notch experts, SNE interacts with stakeholders across Europe and beyond.

Position

This position is a maternity cover role for the period from mid-August 2026 to the end of March 2027. The Regulatory and Scientific Manager will:

Advocate on food safety and other issues relevant to SNE;
Develop and implement strategies for advocacy and projects;
Manage SNE working groups (food safety, food additives and slimming & sport foods), projects and relations with stakeholders;
Organise and moderate specific group meetings;
Advise on food safety and related issues and support advocacy on the same topics;
Engage with different stakeholders and partner associations;
Collect input from the SNE membership;
Draft documents (e.g. position papers, meeting minutes) and communication materials on current issues relevant to the specialised nutrition industry;

Profile

Completed higher education in a relevant field (preferably food safety, food technology, food science, nutrition or related studies);
Previous work experience of at least 2-3 years, including some experience on food safety, food law or nutrition and some experience in EU affairs;
Advanced knowledge of the functioning of the European institutions;
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a variety of external stakeholders;
Capacity to quickly understand technical content and relay it to different target groups;
Keen interest in nutrition and health policies as well as European affairs;
Strong drafting skills and an excellent command of English; other languages are a plus;
Some experience managing projects and moderating meetings;
Independent and well-organised work style, service-minded, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with tight deadlines; attention to detail;
Advanced end user IT skills;
Right to work in Belgium.
