About PIE:
The Pooled fund on International Energy (PIE) is an international grant-making and strategy platform with a mission to secure a safe climate, clean air, and prosperity by encouraging a just transition in the power and steel sectors.
PIE works with charitable foundations and regional climate foundations to support a diverse set of research institutions, think tanks, and civil society organizations working with governments, businesses, and other parts of society all over the world. We aim to support both national and international partners working to overcome the barriers to clean energy and decarbonizing steel.
PIE was formed in 2013 and is hosted at the European Climate Foundation (ECF) and is comprised of a small and dedicated international team based around the world. PIE has a reputation for excellence in analyzing and presenting data across the energy system, with particular emphasis on electricity, electrification, industry, and coal. PIE seeks to operate in accordance with a core set of values, which are that PIE’s team is empowering and caring, that they act boldly with urgency, that they collaborate for real-world impact, and that PIE is a resilient partner with the climate ecosystem, and that PIE is committed to evidence-based decision-making.
