Qualifications

University degree or equivalent.

+6 years of public affairs work experience on EU policy.

Solid experience in managing clients as well as teams autonomously, and an active role in your team members’ development as PA consultants.

Eligibility to reside and work in Belgium and willingness to live in Brussels. This job is open to non-EU citizens.

Prior experience and a strong interest in working on climate related files.

Knowledge of EU decision-making processes and the political and regulatory landscape within the EU.

Robust skills in managing stakeholder relationships and engaging at all levels effectively.

You have a broad network within the EU environment.

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written.

You enjoy contributing to the team and have a collaborative mindset.
Key responsibilities
1. Provide strategic advice on EU public and regulatory affairs to a portfolio of sustainable frontrunner clients

Manage accounts and client relationships, including developing and implementing impactful EU public affairs strategies, performing regular fitness checks, identifying threats and opportunities and how best to respond;

Manage day to day operations and work programmes independently; act as main point of contact for clients;

Think outside of the box and propose creative solutions to ensure client objectives are reached;

Think ahead: consider longer-term outlook on potential future workstreams for
2. Support recruitment, training and career development of team members

Mentor colleagues working on your client team in terms of content and deliverables, ensuring they have the skills they need to deliver quality work;

Be the go-to person for team members to advise on day-to-day responsibilities and broader professional development;

Safeguard the general wellbeing of colleagues, actively propose ideas to improve team working and
3. Support broader #SustainablePublicAffairs activities

Become a known name in your network for content expertise and expand this network through e.g. public speaking, publishing thought-leadership pieces, moderating events;

Seek out new business leads and collaborate with management on business development activities such as proposal preparation, delivery and contract (re-)negotiations;

Encourage and embody a collaborative, knowledge-sharing mindset.
