About Velo-city
The Velo-city conference is the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) annual flagship event, organized by the ECF together with selected host cities every year in a different city. In 2025, Velo-city took place from 10-13 June in Gdansk (Poland) and in 2026 it will take place in Rimini (Italy) from 16-19 June.
Since its first edition in 1980, Velo-city has played a valuable part in promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transport for all. Every year, it brings together a growing number of about 1,600 participants from over 60 countries who are involved in the policy, promotion and provision for cycling, active mobility and sustainable urban development. The conference exhibition showcases the latest innovations for a better cycling experience in cities and beyond!

Internship description
As an intern you will assist the team in performing the daily office tasks to fulfil the ECF mission. You will have the opportunity to learn, apply and develop your abilities in assisting in event & communications management.
You will work in direct collaboration with the Velo-city team in preparation for the upcoming Velo-city conference. Your tasks will focus on:

Communications: support content generation for social media platforms, graphic design support (e.g. help preparing visual materials including videos), write/edit/publish articles, website updates;

Programme: support speaker management tasks

Exhibition: prospect and find new leads for the Velo-city exhibition, promote the partnership and exhibition opportunities online;

General administrative support: assistance with the event organisation, preparation and evaluation.

Your internship will be in an office located in the heart of Brussels full of passionate, international and friendly colleagues.

There are a lot of opportunities to learn and to demonstrate creativity, initiative and research skills on cycling-related issues, while building your cycling network.

We offer a full time 6-month internship paid approximately € 1,056 monthly. A 3-month extension is foreseen if the internship is successful. This is a professional internship agreement, according to Belgian law, called Convention d’immersion professionnelle in French or Beroepsinlevingsovereenkomst in Dutch. It includes a clear description of the tasks and the expected competences acquired by the end of the internship.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU and able to live and work in Belgium during their internship.

The candidate should be able to start in November 2025.
What do we expect?

Fluency (oral and written) in English
