## Purpose of the role

The purpose of Eurogroup for Animals’ campaigns is to drive positive change for animals by convening its members around common goals and coordinating EU-wide actions. These campaigns combine coordinated national and European advocacy efforts, aligned with public mobilisation to advance shared objectives. The Campaign Officer supports the preparation, execution, and evaluation of Eurogroup for Animals’ campaigns. The role contributes to engaging and mobilising members, ensuring effective coordination and delivery of campaign activities.

## Primary responsibilities

– Support the design and delivery of campaigns, ensuring activities and outputs are implemented on time and to a high standard.
– Coordinate campaign actions with members and key partners, fostering strong engagement, alignment, and shared ownership.
Translate advocacy and political strategies into impactful campaign activities, working closely with other teams to ensure coherence and strategic relevance.
– Support coordination of campaign‑related work within the Communications team, ensuring smooth workflows and consistent messaging.
– Help identify and implement effective tools and systems that strengthen member‑driven campaigns and improve collaboration.
– Provide input and hands‑on assistance to colleagues on campaigns, in close collaboration with the Campaign Lead.
– Monitor campaign progress and contribute to evaluation, using appropriate analytical tools to capture insights and support continuous learning.
– Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal campaign processes and procedures, helping to strengthen efficiency, clarity, and impact.
– Contribute to building and sustaining a vibrant network of campaigners across Eurogroup for Animals’ membership.

## Person specification

### Essential skills & qualifications

– At least five years of professional experience in communications and/or campaigning, ideally within the non‑profit sector.
– Proven experience supporting multi‑stakeholder campaigns, with an ability to navigate diverse perspectives and build alignment.
– Good understanding of project management approaches and tools, with the ability to keep complex workflows on track.
– Solid understanding of EU political processes and how to translate them into effective advocacy opportunities.
– Familiarity with digital campaigning tools and platforms, and an interest in using them creatively.
– Strategic and creative thinker, with a strong focus on practical execution and results.
– Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
– Service‑oriented and member‑focused mindset, with a commitment to supporting and empowering partners.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.
– Robust organisational and time‑management abilities, with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapting to different working styles and team dynamics.
– Proactive, structured, and accountable working style, with strong attention to detail.
– Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality written content in English, tailored to different audiences.
– Proficiency with Google Workspace.
– Affinity with animal welfare issues and a genuine commitment to the mission of Eurogroup for Animals.

### Desirable skills and qualifications

– Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira or Trello and with Canva.
– Knowledge of another EU language.

## Practicalities

Consultant contract

– This position is part-time (80%) initially until the end of December 2027 with possible extension, subject to renewal of funding.
– The position is based in Brussels, however remote options might be considered.
– We are looking for somebody to start as soon as possible.
– Compensation commensurate with professional experience.
