European People’s Party

European People’s Party

The European People's Party (EPP) is a centre-right European political party that unites Christian democratic, conservative, and liberal-conservative parties from across the European Union. It works to formulate long-term political platforms and serves as a focal point for centre-right politicians, influencing decision-making within European institutions like the European Parliament, Commission, and Council. The EPP's headquarters are located in Brussels, Belgium.

The EPP is the largest political party in Europe. More information on: www.epp.eu

For our Brussels-based Headquarters, we are currently looking for a: Communications Adviser

We are looking for a versatile, hands-on communications professional who can work across content, digital communications, audiovisual production, creative projects and event organisation.

The ideal candidate should combine strong writing and editorial skills with practical content-production capabilities. We are looking for someone who can write and adapt content for different formats and audiences, but who is equally comfortable picking up a camera, recording an interview or social media video, and editing content for publication.

The role will cover the full communications cycle: developing ideas, writing and producing content, publishing across digital channels, supporting campaigns, and contributing to the organisation and delivery of the party’s major events.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with experience and capabilities across:

  • Writing and content creation: drafting social media content, website articles, political communications, newsletters, scripts, talking points and other communications materials.
  • Video production and editing: filming interviews, statements, behind-the-scenes and social-first content, as well as independently editing and adapting videos for different digital platforms.
  • Digital and social media: creating and publishing content across platforms, understanding different formats and audiences, and contributing ideas for engaging and innovative digital communications.
  • Creative production: working with graphic designers, photographers, videographers and other creatives to turn communications concepts into strong visual content.
  • Event organisation: supporting the planning and delivery of Congresses, Political Assemblies, Summits and other high-level events, particularly from a communications and production perspective.
  • Event production and branding: coordinating stages, screens, signage, audiovisual requirements, livestreaming, photography, video production and the overall visual identity of events.
  • Supplier coordination: working directly with production companies, technical providers, photographers, videographers, livestreaming teams and other external partners, including preparing briefs and following up on delivery.
  • Campaign communications: supporting integrated political campaigns across digital, audiovisual and offline channels, from creative development and content production to websites and online advertising.
  • Brand consistency: ensuring that communications materials and event outputs maintain a high and consistent visual and editorial standard.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is creative but also operational. Someone who can come up with a strong communications idea and then help execute it: write the copy, produce or edit the content, coordinate the people involved and make sure the final product is delivered to a high standard.

The person should be highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving political environment, where priorities can change quickly and major events require close coordination across multiple teams and suppliers.

Requirements

  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Relations or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications, media, public affairs, political communications or a similar role
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English
  • Experience in digital communications and social media content management
  • Knowledge of video production and editing
  • Experience coordinating events, campaigns and external suppliers
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of additional European languages is an asset

Conditions of employment:

  • Contract under Belgian law: 1-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal, subject to organisational needs
  • Salary and benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package (details provided during the recruitment process)
  • Location: Based in Brussels
  • Starting date: as soon as possible
