We are recruiting an Accountant to work together with our Finance team. The candidate would start as soon as possible, ideally in November 2026.

Responsibilities

As an in-house accountant, you handle the day-to-day accounting management of the association.

You will work as part of the Finance team under the supervision of the Finance manager and the Director of Projects Finance. In this role, you will:

Create purchase orders for Eurocities’ operating expenses.
Enter supplier invoices and expense reports into the Odoo software.
Prepare weekly payments and bank reconciliations.
Record credit card transactions.
Analyse open customer and supplier accounts.
Be the main point of contact for any accounting and payment-related matters in the organisation.

Profile

You are an accounting graduate who is full of initiative, self-driven, curious, creative, flexible and results-oriented.

The skills and experience to do this job successfully include*:

at least 1 year of professional experience working on suppliers’ accounting
good knowledge of Belgian GAAP
good knowledge of English (B2) and full proficiency in French or Dutch (C1)
knowledge of one of the main Belgian accounting software
excellent organisational and accuracy skills
excellent prioritisation and time management skills
problem-solving approach
experience working autonomously and as part of a team

Assets:

knowledge of the Belgian and intracommunity VAT rules
knowledge of Odoo ERP
previous experience in not-for-profit organisations
experience in analytic accounting
other languages an asset

We offer

A 50% to 80% part-time position, to be discussed.
An open-ended employment contract under Belgian legislation.
Gross monthly Full-Time Equivalent salary between 2.500€ and 3.200€, according to profile and experience.
