EurEau is the European Water Services Association representing the water & wastewater operators from 33 countries at EU level. Through 70.000 utilities - reflecting the full diversity of the European water and sanitation services - EurEau’s members collectively provide water services to more than 500 million people.
Profile
- A university degree or equivalent qualification in economics, law, environmental studies or another relevant field
- At least 4 years’ demonstrable experience in European policy development, ideally in the water sector
- Good knowledge and understanding of the EU institutions and EU decision-making processes
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an asset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written documents for different audiences; confidence and ease in public speaking are essential
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, stakeholders and experts
Function & responsabilities
- As part of our international team, you will report to the Secretary General
- You will work closely with experts from EurEau member organisations to advance and strengthen European water legislation
- Your responsibilities will include monitoring European legislation and its implementation, as well as analysing legislative proposals, official documents and studies on relevant topics
- Negotiating positions for the water sector that reflect our collective voice is a key part of the role; you should be able to demonstrate experience in building consensus among different stakeholders
- You will develop and implement strategies to advocate EurEau’s positions to decision-makers, the media, stakeholders and within the organisation’s international network
- You will actively contribute to the drafting of EurEau publications and support your colleagues with other relevant tasks across the organisation
EurEau will offer a full-time Belgian employment contract, with the possibility of working remotely up to two days per week. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
