EUN Partnership AISBL (‘European Schoolnet’) is looking for a highly motivated intern passionate about communication and keen to join its Science Education department. This position will involve assisting European Schoolnet with writing content for news articles and websites, video editing and production, as well with the dissemination and promotion of European projects focused on the future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education , as part of a six-month internship. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in an international environment , learn and network with colleagues and partners from across Europe.

Main tasks

This list is for indicative purposes only and may be adapted to meet the department’s priorities and the skills demonstrated by the intern :

The tasks for the successful candidates will include as example:

  • Contribute to the creation of videos and promotional audiovisual content.
  • Edit and manage postproduction of videos related to digital education for EU-funded projects.
  • Support the production of interviews and educational content (webinars, online courses, event videos, basic animations, etc.).
  • Assist with the dissemination of video outputs through European Schoolnet’s YouTube channel and website.
  • Support podcast editing and production.
  • Write news articles, social media posts, and other content related to projects in the context of STEM education activities.
  • Update and maintain websites and online platforms.
  • Contribute to the planning, drafting, and management of newsletters.
  • Support the creation and editing of communication and promotional materials (posters, banners, visuals, videos, etc.).
  • Assist in planning and implementing social media campaigns.

Profile and skills

  • Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. master’s in communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field … etc) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in video production and editing is a strong asset.
  • Good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and especially Adobe Premiere Pro (Win OS.
  • Well-versed in audio editing software . Basic knowledge of audio production and mixing.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic and visual assets production (card names, slides etc.
  • Proven knowledge of new formats and social media videos is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic animation and motion graphic (Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of social media management and digital communication practices .
  • Ability to write and edit clear, engaging content in English .
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Strong organisational skills .
  • Ability to learn fast and deliver quality results while respecting deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable , with a willingness and determination to overcome issues and seek solutions.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and intercultural skills to succeed in an international environment.

Useful information

  • Duration of contract: 5 months’ internship, starting by September. This is a full-time position.
  • Deadline for applications: until the position is filled.
  • Location: European Schoolnet, Rue de Treves, 61, Brussels, Belgium. The trainee will have to be domiciled in Belgium during the traineeship.
  • Permit: Applicants must be EU citizens or already possess a valid work permit for Belgium.
  • Benefits: a stipend of 1100 €/month net for the duration of the internship; hybrid position: Remote working from the Belgian residence up to three days per week allowed (work from the office on Thursdays & Fridays); up to 10 days remote working from outside Belgium during the internship.
