Your Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Communication Coordinator to strengthen the daily operations of our Communication team at REVOLVE Headquarters.
This is a senior operational coordination role for someone who combines strong communication expertise with excellent organisational skills, analytical thinking, and a natural ability to bring clarity to complex situations with a mind for amplifying outreach.
You will be the first operational point of contact for our Communication Officers at HQ, coordinating priorities, workloads, project requirements, and delivery. Your responsibility is to ensure that the right work is planned, the right people are supported, and potential challenges are identified and resolved before they affect delivery.
Working closely with the Head of Communication, Communication Manager, and the Projects Department, you will connect project needs with team capacity, maintain an overview of upcoming commitments and help create a more predictable, efficient and collaborative working environment.
We are looking for someone who does more than coordinate tasks. You anticipate needs, connect information, recognise risks, propose solutions, and take ownership of making things work.
Your Responsibilities
- Team Coordination and Support
- Coordinate the daily operational activities of approximately 5 to 6 Communication Officers and trainees acting as the first point of contact for questions about priorities, workloads, deadlines, dependencies, and delivery challenges.
- Lead the operational follow-up of weekly Communication Sprint Planning, ensuring commitments of progress between meetings, tracking progress and ensuring actions, commitments and blockers have clear ownership and follow up.
- Allocate and adjust tasks within agreed priorities and available capacity, ensuring a balanced and realistic distribution of work.
- Identify and resolve routine operational blockers independently, escalating more complex issues when necessary.
- Provide practical guidance and mentoring to colleagues, encouraging autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Project Coordination and Planning
- Act as the operational link between the Project Department and HQ Communication, clarifying briefs, timelines, and expectations.
- Keep a clear overview of communication requirements across EU-funded projects and service contracts, ensuring deliverables, milestones, and workloads are accurately planned and tracked.
- Monitor team capacity, deadlines, and risks to anticipate resource gaps and propose solutions before they become urgent.
- Coordinate communication support across projects, campaigns, events, and REVOLVE’s thematic Hubs, such as Climate Resilience, Regenerative Landscapes, and Sustainable Spaces with a focus on storytelling and amplifying outreach.
- Strengthen collaboration with our Mediterranean Communication team on shared dependencies and resource allocation.
- Improve planning and simplify workflows to protect quality, delivery, and team wellbeing.
- Provide structured updates to the Head of Communication and contribute insights and recommendations to quarterly Communication Impact Reporting.
- Communication Quality and Delivery
- Coordinate the REVOLVE Communication Unit to ensure branding and messaging consistency across our main channels, including our website, 360° Sustainability newsletter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
- Coordinate the content integration and storytelling of project highlights, campaigns, events, and partner activities into REVOLVE communication planning.
- Review and standardize communication deliverables within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with established quality standards and brand guidelines.
- Identify recurring quality or delivery challenges and work with the Communication Manager to implement practical improvements.
- Contribute to communication campaigns and strategic initiatives when additional senior expertise is required for impactful tactics and engaging storytelling.
- Coordinate with Editorial and Studios Departments to ensure smooth collaboration and timely delivery.
- 4. Strategic and Growth Support
- Contribute operational insights to Communication planning and department priorities, including Media Relations.
- Support the Growth Department with communication expertise for selected grants, tenders, and client proposals when required.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen communication activities, partnerships, and cross project collaboration.
How You Will Work
At REVOLVE, we believe that servant leadership creates clarity, supports people, and enables them to succeed.
You will have the authority to make routine operational decisions concerning HQ Communication priorities, task allocation, and delivery coordination within agreed plans and resources.
You will report operationally to the Head of Communication and collaborate closely with the Communication Manager, who retains formal people management responsibility for Communication Officers.
Your role is to empower the team to deliver successfully, resolve operational challenges at the appropriate level, and ensure that issues requiring management or strategic decisions are escalated with clear information and proposed solutions.
What Success Looks Like
We want you to make a tangible difference to how our Communication Department operates.
Within your first 3 months:
- Establish clear operational coordination and support for all HQ Communication Officers and trainees.
- Create reliable visibility of workloads, project commitments, deadlines, and capacity.
- Ensure project communication requirements are consistently reflected in Asana.
- Establish effective follow-up and escalation practices, reducing dependency on senior management for routine operational decisions.
Within 6 months:
- Demonstrate improved workload planning and more proactive identification of delivery risks.
- Reduce avoidable last-minute challenges and recurring operational bottlenecks.
- Improve delivery consistency, quality, and collaboration across teams.
- Enable the Head of Communication and Communication Manager to dedicate more time to strategic direction, people development and forward planning.
Success will be evaluated through clear performance indicators, team feedback, and improvements in delivery reliability, coordination, and operational efficiency.
Your Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- At least 5-10 years of relevant professional experience in communication coordination, campaign management, project delivery, or similar roles.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating teams, managing competing priorities and ensuring delivery across multiple projects.
- Experience working with EU-funded projects, grants, service contracts or other complex client and partner environments.
- Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and resolve operational problems.
- Experience with digital communication, campaigns, content planning, and quality assurance.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with exceptional attention to accuracy, clarity and detail.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear priorities and practical solutions.
- Confidence using collaborative project management tools such as Asana or equivalent platforms.
Highly Desirable
- A Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Environmental Studies or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Strong project management capabilities, including workload planning, resource coordination, risk identification, and deadline management.
- Experience coordinating teams through agile working methods, including sprint planning and iterative delivery.
- Experience in sustainability, climate, environmental policy, research communication, or EU institutional communication.
- Experience coaching junior colleagues and supporting trainees.
- Additional working level fluency in more languages is an attribute.
The Person We Are Looking For
You are a proactive problem solver who brings structure, calm, and clarity to a busy working environment.
You enjoy helping others succeed and believe that effective coordination is about removing obstacles rather than creating additional layers of approval.
You are comfortable taking responsibility, making decisions within your mandate, and asking for support when something requires a broader perspective.
You think ahead rather than waiting for problems to emerge. You are curious, collaborative, and confident enough to question existing processes constructively.
Above all, you combine strategic awareness with operational ownership, understanding how daily decisions affect team performance, project delivery, and the wider organisation.
What We Offer
- Salary: €3,750 to €4,500 gross per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Benefits: A comprehensive package including transport support, meal vouchers, eco vouchers and a wellbeing activity allowance.
- Hybrid working: Three days per week in our Brussels office and two days working remotely.
- Two-weeks of remote work outside of Belgium.
- Meaningful work: The opportunity to contribute to sustainability projects and communication initiatives across Europe and internationally.
- Professional growth: A collaborative environment where initiative, knowledge sharing and continuous learning are encouraged.
- A diverse team: Work alongside communication specialists, researchers, creative professionals and sustainability experts who share a commitment to delivering meaningful results.
