[BEUC – The European Consumer Organisation](https://www.beuc.eu/) is looking for an **International Affairs Trainee** to support the implementation of BEUC’s strategy on digital trade under the supervision of the International Affairs team.

## Your role:

– Monitoring and analysing EU and international developments related to trade and customs (EU institutions, WTO, WCO, UNCTAD, etc.);
– Mapping relevant stakeholders and supporting engagement with EU institutions, international organisations, and civil society;
– Gathering and analysing evidence from BEUC members, academic sources, and other relevant materials;
– Supporting the preparation of meetings and events, including drafting agendas, background notes, and follow-up actions;
– Taking minutes of internal and external meetings;
– Contributing to BEUC’s advocacy work on digital trade files, including trade negotiations and regulatory initiatives, and providing general support to the International Affairs team.

## Your profile:

– University degree in law, political science, EU affairs, international affairs or a related field;
– A strong interest in EU trade policy, in particular digital trade and its implications for consumers;
– Good understanding of EU institutions and decision-making processes;
– Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex information;
– Very good drafting skills in English;
– Good organisational skills and attention to detail;
– Proactive attitude and willingness to learn;
– Previous experience or academic work related to trade, digital policy, or consumer protection is an asset.
