Join Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini S.r.l (FGB), an international research centre that specialises in the field of employment and social policies, labour market analysis, gender studies, vocational education and training and regional development. With offices in Rome, Milan and Brussels, FGB provides research and evaluation expertise and technical assistance to EU and national institutions and other public sector clients.
We are seeking a proactive and well-organised Project Officer to join our Labour Market and Skills Research Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting coordination of complex research projects across EU labour market, vocational education and training, and skills policy domains. This is a full-time position based at FGB’s office in Brussels with flexibility to work in a hybrid mode.
Core responsibilities

Support the implementation of multi-country research and consultancy projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery in close collaboration with internal and external research teams.

Contribute to drafting competitive research and consultancy proposals (e.g. by preparing state-of-the-art analyses, methodologies, work plans and budgets) in response to EU and international tenders and calls for proposals.

Facilitate the work of research teams by overseeing timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Support effective communication among team members and stakeholders.

Ensure project documentation and high-quality deliverables by supporting review, editing and feedback cycles; Maintain compliance with donor guidelines.

Contribute to building and maintaining relationships with key partners, clients (e.g. European Commission agencies), and subcontractors.

Represent FGB in meetings, conferences, and external events.

Support internal learning and refinement of project management practices, and contribute to the development of knowledge resources and templates.
Requirements

Degree in a relevant discipline such as political science, public policy, economics, education sciences, or related fields.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, preferably within an EU context.

Experience in drafting EU project proposals and familiarity with European tendering procedures.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder teams and processes, with good communication and organisational skills.

Good knowledge of EU labour market, skills and education policy is desirable. Ability to quickly grasp research content and translate it into project documentation is essential.

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional European languages is an asset. Proficiency in project management tools is advantageous.

Experience with data visualisation would be an asset.

Willingness to travel within the EU for project meetings and events.
