Summary

The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) brings together 350+ Food Banks across 30 countries to reduce food waste and fight food insecurity.
FEBA is seeking a Senior Manager – Unified Data Framework & Network Development, a hybrid leadership role combining strategic network strengthening and data-driven ESG innovation.

This pivotal position will lead the roll-out of FEBA’s Unified Data Framework (UDF) — a European-level initiative to harmonise environmental and social impact reporting — while driving FEBA’s broader network development and partnership strategy.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of food redistribution in Europe through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Unified Data Framework (UDF) Leadership

  • Lead the implementation and scaling of FEBA’s Unified Data Framework across member countries and corporate partners.
  • Oversee the ESG Manager and Data Officer ensuring delivery of project milestones, data quality, and compliance with EU standards (CSRD, GHG, FRAME, SDGs).
  • Manage coordination with external partners (FoodCloud, Anthesis).
  • Drive adoption of shared environmental and social impact metrics across the network.
  • Represent FEBA in EU and industry dialogues on ESG, sustainability reporting, and impact data.
  • Ensure smooth integration of digital tools and data pipelines (e.g., Foodverse, Power BI dashboards).

2. Network Development & Partnerships

  • Support FEBA members to strengthen capacity, reporting, and operational resilience.
  • Drive engagement and collaboration among national Food Banks for data sharing, training, and advocacy.
  • Work closely with Food Bank leaders to identify systemic challenges and co-design scalable solutions promoting efficiency, food safety, and inclusivity.
  • In close collaboration with Head of Fundraising and Partnerships, identify and develop strategic partnerships with donors, companies, and EU institutions aligned with FEBA’s mission.
  • Oversee EU-funded and foundation grants related to outlined activities.
  • Support the organisation of major FEBA events (Annual Convention, EU workshops, data summits).

3. Policy & Strategic Integration

  • Work closely with FEBA’s policy and communications teams to translate data insights into policy narratives and advocacy.
  • Ensure that FEBA’s data-driven work supports broader EU food waste and social policy objectives.
  • Contribute to FEBA’s strategic planning, ensuring coherence between data, policy, and fundraising initiatives.

4. Staff & Project Management

  • Support the ESG Manager and Data Officer, and ND Project Manager setting clear objectives.
  • Oversee project budgets, donor reporting, and operational performance indicators.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental coordination and organisational effectiveness within the FEBA Office.

Profile & Qualifications

Experience & Knowledge

  • Master’s degree in Environmental/Social Policy, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with proven expertise in ESG reporting, sustainability data, or EU project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in network or programme development within a European or international NGO.
  • Knowledge of EU frameworks and funding programmes (LIFE, Horizon, ESF+, CSRD, Green Deal).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills; able to manage multidisciplinary teams and partnerships.
  • Excellent communication skills (English required; other EU languages an asset).
  • Experience with impact measurement, data management systems, and cross-sector collaboration.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinker and systems-level problem-solver.
  • Confident communicator with ability to engage both technical and policy audiences.
  • Strong project management, budget oversight, and reporting skills.
  • Tech-savvy, data-literate, and comfortable with digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborative, empathetic, and adaptable in a fast-paced European context.

Our Culture

At FEBA, we believe in purpose-driven excellence.
Our team is dynamic, mission-oriented, and committed to tangible impact. We work best with people who are:

  • Go-getters who turn ideas into results and see challenges as opportunities.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic, willing to roll up their sleeves in a small but high-performing international team.
  • Independent thinkers who also thrive in collaborative, cross-cultural environments.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive, not afraid to question the status quo to make systems work better.
  • Aligned with FEBA’s values of solidarity, accountability, and innovation.

If you’re looking for a large hierarchical organisation — this isn’t it.
If you want to make a measurable difference and lead Europe’s data transformation for food solidarity, FEBA is the right place for you.

Why Join FEBA

  • Work at the crossroads of policy, sustainability, and social impact.
  • Lead one of Europe’s most innovative ESG and data transformation projects in the non-profit sector.
  • Be a part of a small but growing team, passionate about a mission that reduces food waste and fights food insecurity across Europe.
  • Competitive package (€4,000–€5,500/month gross) plus competitive benefits package including pension contribution, hybrid working arrangement, hospitalisation coverage, year-end bonus and meal voucher
