Are you enthusiastic about international cultural and educational work, do you have experience in acquiring third-party funding, particularly EU funding, and do you enjoy working in cross-border teams? Then you are the right person to oversee our third-party funding work in Europe II, which comprises 26 Goethe-Instituts in 22 countries in Northern, Western, and Southern Europe. You will work for the management of the region Europe II and as part of the cross-location team “Assignments, Projects, and Partnerships” either in Amsterdam or Brussels.

As the interface between the Goethe-Institut headquarters in Munich, the regional institute in Amsterdam, and the EU liaison office in Brussels, you will make an important strategic and operational contribution to successful third-party funding in the region Europe II as part of the cross-location team “Assignments, Projects, and Partnerships” either in Amsterdam or Brussels.

You will ensure the flow of information between headquarters, the EU office, the regional team, and institute management, and will be responsible for coordinating third-party funding activities and systematic third-party funding knowledge management in the Europe II region.

You will provide conceptual support to the Goethe-Institutes in “Europe II” in the acquisition of third-party funding, in particular EU funding, e.g., by advising on the application process, project design, budget preparation, and the inception phase, moderating kick-off events, and introducing new project staff.

In addition, you will advise the institutes on project implementation, particularly in the case of large-scale EU-funded projects, e.g., in project cycle management, content and financial controlling, and advising project teams.

You will support the institutes in establishing networks and partnerships in the area of third-party funding, as well as in creating track records, thematic dossiers, and advocacy materials.
What sets you apart?

You have a university degree and experience in applying for, designing, budgeting, implementing, and evaluating large-scale projects funded by third-party sources, especially EU-funded projects.

You have a keen interest in cultural and educational work in an international context.

You have strong project management skills, a high level of conceptual and strategic thinking, and a structured approach to your work.

Ideally, you have experience in moderation techniques and process design.

You are characterized by strong social and intercultural skills as well as strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

You are confident in challenging situations and willing to travel on business.

Your German language skills are at native speaker level and you also have a very good command of English.
