Job Description

The Renew Europe Group is seeking to recruit an assistant to support its secretariat. We are currently looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas:

  • IT/Logistics

As an IT/Logistics Assistant, you will provide daily IT support to the Group, including the installation/configuration of equipment, and handling of ad-hoc IT requests. You will be in charge of managing inventoried assets in Brussels and in Strasbourg. You will plan, handle and manage office moves, logistical issues and/or request related to office furniture, telephone lines, etc. You will allocate and manage office spaces for Strasbourg missions. You will assist colleagues from various units during the organisation of Group events. You will support colleagues in the room management team for the organisation of meetings. In addition, you will represent the Group in the Parliament’s GBI Working Group.

The post in the Secretariat of the Renew Europe Group requires great availability (for example high frequency of meetings, irregular working hours), flexibility, adaptability to varying workload, as well as an ability to work well in a team in an international and multicultural environment. Suitable candidates must, among other things, be capable of grasping wide-ranging issues, be able to respond rapidly to changing circumstances and communicate effectively.

Job requirements

  • Candidates must have at least a level of education, which corresponds to:

    • post-secondary education attested by a diploma and appropriate professional experience of at least 3 years (full time), or

    • a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least 6 years (full time) after acquisition of the qualifications specified above.

  • A thorough knowledge of one of the following languages: French or Dutch (language 1)

  • Candidates must also have a very good knowledge of English

Additional criteria, which would be an asset:

  • Professional experience in the European institutions;

  • Good knowledge of the political activities of the Renew Europe Group and its Members and affinity with Renew Europe’s policies;

  • A good working knowledge of other languages of the EU.
