FEDARENE is a leading European network of Energy Agencies and Regions. We facilitate the development of interregional partnerships and projects, promote the regional dimension in sustainable energy and climate resilience debates, and help public authorities and their agencies build capacity for the energy & climate transition. We offer a position with responsibility and focus on EU project activities within a well-established European association (35+ years), representing members from 25 European countries and active in one of the most strategic areas of current European politics.

## Your main missions:

We are looking for a Project Officer to lead the implementation of FEDARENE’s tasks in European projects focused on accelerating the decarbonisation and renovation of buildings mainly but could include other topics in accordance to the evolution of FEDARENE portfolio.

The Project Officer will lead activities related to stakeholder engagement, ecosystem mapping, and the development of cooperation and governance frameworks that enable effective building renovation systems. The role involves working closely with regional and local authorities, energy agencies, and private sector stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, improve implementation processes, and support the development of tools and resources for replication across Europe.

The selected candidate will also be involved in the roll-out of FEDARENE’s services to its members, contribute to and/or coordinate FEDARENE working groups, in particular those focused on data, digitalisation, and One-Stop Shops.

In addition, the Project Officer will support communication and dissemination activities, including the organisation of events, webinars, and policy dialogues on sustainable buildings. The role will help ensure EU-level visibility and uptake of project results through FEDARENE’s network and relevant platforms. This includes engaging with experts, supporting outreach activities, and translating technical and policy outputs into practical guidance to accelerate building renovation across Europe.

## Tasks include (but are not limited to):

– Collect inputs from project partners or member energy agencies on technical topics and carry out comparative analysis for guidance and replication across Europe
– Draft deliverables and ensure an efficient and on-time delivery of all outputs, including technical reports;
– Design and implement the projects’ replication and exploitation strategies
– Implement the projects’ communication strategy (posts on social media, promotion of events, newsletters, press release …)
– Organise a wide variety of events (Projects meetings, Webinars, Capacity-building workshops, EU conferences, Peer learning programmes…) from start to end (planning, implementation, reporting)
– Administrative, technical and financial management of the projects
– Define the internal working group strategy, organise regular working group meetings and implement the activities agreed upon with members.

## Preferred education & experience:

Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. environment / energy / climate change / urban planning …)

At least 3 years of experience in a similar role. What we will evaluate positively is experience in the following areas:

– Implementation of EU-funded projects or initiatives (Horizon Europe, Interreg, LIFE…),
– Supporting local and/or regional authorities in their energy/climate transition
– Event organisation (multiple event formats)

## Employee Profile

### Required skills:

– Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package, especially MS Excel and MS Teams;
– Ability to deeply understand technical issues and to translate them for a broader public understanding;
– Strong communication and analytical skills;
– Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
– Fluency in spoken and written English at a C1 minimum level;
– Basic knowledge of EU policies on climate and energy;
– Good organisational skills and attention to detail;
– Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines;
– Knowledge of other EU languages (C1) is considered an asset;

## Our offer

– Full-time employment in our office in Brussels, Belgium (contract under the Belgian Law). Initial contract of 12 months. Please note that only candidates with the right to work in the EU will be considered.
– Teleworking is possible several days a week but you will be required to come to the office weekly. Full remote working is not possible.

Salary range for this position, depending on experience and skills : 44 000 – 54 000 EUR gross per annum
